Alien | 1 Minute Retrospective Review

‘You still don’t understand what you’re dealing with, do you? Perfect organism. Its structural perfection is matched only by its hostility.’

Groundbreaking practical effects, gorgeous visuals, and all-around compelling performances: it’s a classic for a reason! Ridley Scott’s sci-fi horror is full of atmosphere that is only broken by the appearance of the formidable Xenomorph, who provides more than just jump scares.

  1. Pointless Trivia: Ridley Scott started his professional career as a designer for the BBC and signed up to the BBC director’s course. His directorial debut was an episode of overlooked 60’s fantasy series Adam Adamant Lives entitled “The League of Uncharitable Ladies”. The script is rather mundane but Scott at least attempts to make it look interesting, even if it doesn’t always pay off all the time.
