Alexandra Park || London Living

Is it hypocritical that one of my favourite parts of living in London is that it looks like I don’t live in London?

I moved down to London at the end of September to start at university and I had never been more excited – or more nervous – for anything in my life. London has always been my favourite city; the city that, despite cheating on it with Paris, New York, Ottawa and more, I came back to every time with a loving embrace. So it is beyond incredible to be able to call it my home, at least for the next few years of my life.

That’s one of the reasons why I feel slightly mean to say that one of the things I love the most about living here is that my flat is in an area that does not at all look like London. The fact I have to don a pair of wellington boots to walk my dog around the park is evidence enough for this, let alone the expansive skyline of London that you can just glimpse through the gaps of tree-lines and buildings.  But I won’t feel guilty about loving it, it makes me love it all the more because it feels like my part of London, my tiny fraction of this enormous city.

Not that any of this really explains this video. I was just playing around with my camera in said park and voila. Let me know what you think of it!
Some of this footage was also used in a review I did for the Barbican Centre so check that out by clicking here!
